Access to the zone by public transport will be maximised by the construction of a high-speed automated people mover, linking with the Metro North station at Dublin Airport.
The new Metro North, proposed to commence operations in 2014, will link Dublin Airport City within 17 minutes to the centre of Dublin.
A further boost to the Airport City's connections could ultimately be provided by Metro West, currently at feasibility stage, which will link most of the new suburbs and business parks to the west of the city.
Dublin Airport City's location on the M1 motorway, the M50 Dublin orbital route and next to the Dublin Port Tunnel, provides easy road access to Dublin, Belfast and east coast port and ferry links to the UK and mainland Europe.
The new Metro North from Dublin city centre to the airport as well as the APM link to Dublin Airport City, will provide fast and convenient public transport access to the development for employees and airport users alike. The modal split target is ambitious and represents 'best in class' levels of sustainable public transport use.
