Helsinki Airport and Aviapolis are well connected at the E18 road which connects the Scandinavian countries and Russia. It is also directly accessible from the new harbour in Vuosaari where it was moved from downtown Helsinki in 2008.
The new Ring Rail Line connection will be erected by 2014, connecting Helsinki International Airport with the main national and local train network and also with downtown Helsinki.
Environmental art on the Ring Rail Line will profile Finland and the Helsinki region's natural habitat for visitors from all over the world. The architectural design emphasises coherence and harmony, while also boosting the station's individuality - the intention being to make it easier for passengers to know where they are on the line.
The total cost estimate for the Ring Rail Line project is €605 million with financing divided between the Finnish state and the City of Vantaa. The Ring Rail Line project will be conducted under the direction of the Finnish Traffic Agency.
The other cooperation partner is Finavia and construction of the Ring Rail Line was launched in the spring of 2009.
