Memphis International Airport's focus on the environment extends to both sides of the terminal - airside and landside.
Airside, the airport has invested in runways capable of supporting the largest and most fuel-efficient aircraft made today. That means its cargo and passenger tenants can fly larger and longer-range aircraft with greater environmental efficiency, without loss of total capacity. In addition, the airport has ensured that its taxiway system allows for maximum efficiency.
The best example of environmental efficiency landside, will be the new ground transportation centre. This centre eliminates all rental car buses and reduces needs for virtually all remote parking buses. When combined with the cell phone parking lot and the recent completion of improved overall entrance and exit flow, Memphis International Airport is eliminating a tremendous amount of air pollution from the airport experience.
