Most recently she served as Landrum & Brown's Project Manager for the San Diego Destination Lindbergh Ultimate Build-out project. This project focused on defining the long-term development plan for San Diego International Airport. Landrum & Brown's role was to develop the forecasts of aviation for Destination Lindbergh and for the Regional Aviation Strategic Plan, and provide technical support on development alternatives. She has recently participated on the Baltimore International Airport Master Plan and the Fort Lauderdale Airport Runway Extension EIS, leading the airfield alternatives and demand/capacity analysis for both projects.
Other notable projects include the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Comprehensive Development Plan, Los Angeles International Airport Master Plan, the Atlanta Hartsfield EIS on the new 5th parallel air carrier runway, the Denver International Airport's 6th Parallel Runway Benefit Cost Analysis and the Denver International Airport Concourse A & C Expansion Benefit Cost Analysis.
Airport Land Use Planning and Revenue Analysis Ms. Fernandez served as the Project Manager for an Alternative Land Use Planning Study for O'Hare International Airport. The O'Hare Asset Maximization Plan effort is one of the most intensive and comprehensive alternative land use planning efforts ever undertaken for a major US airport. This study involved the analysis of existing land uses, potential uses based on market demand, possible development or re-development of several thousand acres of on-airport land, anticipated incremental revenues, and possibilities for third party development and financing. Redevelopment of this land was analyzed in part to support the airport in meeting the financial requirements of on-going capital development programs and provide a sustaining revenue stream for the foreseeable future.
On-Call Planning Ms. Fernandez presently serves as the On-Call Project Manager for the Broward County Aviation Department for whom she has managed multiple projects including a Market Assessment, Airspace Analysis, Benefit Cost Analysis, and Airport Layout Plan CADD Standards.
Industry Committees Ms. Fernandez is a member of the TRB Committee for Airfield and Airspace Capacity and Delay, the NextGen Airports Working Group, and has served as a panelist on the ACRP program. |
