Carlos Madeira is Vice President of ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal, President of Portway - Handling and Chief Executive Officer of NAER, a vehicle company set up to design and implement the New Lisbon Airport project.

A 50-year old native of Coimbra, he holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Instituto Superior Tècnico, Universidade Tècnica de Lisboa (1983) a Master's degree (MBA) from the Faculdade de Economia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1991) and a SEP degree from the Stanford Graduate Business School, Stanford University, Palo Alto, California (1996).

Previously to joining the airport sector, Carlos has worked for several years as a management consultant (The MAC Group) moving afterwards into line management serving in the Board of Directors of large Portuguese companies: Nutrinveste (food business) ADP and EPAL (water utilities) and EDP (electricity and gas).
