Throughout his career, Mr. R K Jain has worked in Infrastructure sector in various senior positions. He has worked in Steel, Telecom and Aluminum sectors before joining Airport sector as President, Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd. in 2006.

GVK-led Consortium, after, wining the bid for privatisation took over operation, management and development of Mumbai Airport in 2006.

Mr. R K Jain is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators UK.
