Ôûá First-rate Development Platform
Southwest Airport Economic Development Zone
Founded in 1992 with approval of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the key development zone at the provincial level is an important industrial base under the strategic plan of Chengdu. The zone, with a planned area of 48.1 sq km, has by far developed 35.1 sq km housing nearly 200 enterprises. Among them there are 7 national-level hi-tech enterprises and 5 listed companies. Prestigious design companies were invited from home and abroad to have planned and designed the layout of the zone in an endeavour to enable the parallel development of 4 sectors e.g. aviation logistics, research & education, headquarters economy, and industry park.
Ôûá Chengdu Aviation Logistics Park
The park with a planned area of 37 sq km, as an int'l hub-oriented park favoured by Chengdu Municipal People's Government, it ripples the rest of Sichuan, western China, and China as well as Chengdu. The park is able to handle 2.5 million tons of air freight on a yearly basis and renders a whole package of logistics services e.g. warehousing and forwarding high value-added and time-sensitive cargo, transiting and distributing cargo, getting cargo bonded and supervised, processing cargo in a value-added manner, serving information, acting as a shipping agent, and offering demonstration and transaction functions for hi-tech enterprises.
Now the park is fitted with qualities necessary for turning out to be an "airport economic zone" with a hub-oriented airport, perfect "transport network" , and mighty industrial and economic foundation backed, laying a groundwork for shaping up to a regional hub first-rate at home and leading on the int'l market.
Ôûá Airport Service Park
Shuangliu aviation-based functional economic area is one of the key county-level functional areas. It covers an area of 101 square kilometers within which the international aviation hub area represents 37 square kilometers with an emphasis on aviation-hub services, aviation logistics, aviation tariff-free trade, business and convention, etc. Aviation-linked headquarter business district approximates 20 square kilometers and its priority is given to headquarter economy and related supporting industries. Aviation headquarters and high-class residential area occupies about 20 square kilometers, with an aim to develop aviation headquarters, aviation linked business services and high quality residence. Aviation-based commercial and trade development area is 24 square kilometers with the concentration of modern commercial and trade industries including furniture, e-business and banded clothing show and selling.
The park, an integral part of the strategy of making Shungliu an idyllic metropolis adjacent to airport, is close to Chengdu Shuangliu Int'l Airport, otherwise known as China Top 5 and Western China Top 1 Int'l Airport. Bordering the airport in the east, south, and west, the park is connected to the airport, the Chengdu proper, and roads having access to the rest of the country via Lingang Road and all sorts of communication links under the "One Park and Various Sections" plan, highlighting advantageous location. It plays a vital role in evolving airport economy in western China.
Drawing upon essence of the airport, centring around the goal of constituting itself a "park first-class in central and western China and well-known in China" , and adhering to the "One City and Three Bases" strategy, the park will optimise and integrate resources of previous three parks i.e. modern trade, headquarters economy, and Mumashan New City and, guided by the Outlook on Scientific Development and taking into account trends of modern service, vigorously fold itself into a modern service base significant in Chengdu with airport service as its spearhead. We will build the "Modern Trade and Business Development Zone" along Dongsheng to Jiujiang, "Headquarters Economy and Creativity Industrial Development Zone" along airport to Huayang to Zhengxing, and "Aviation Headquarters and Airport Business Zone" at Mumashan New City respectively. Efforts will be taken to nurture and develop the clusters of modern trade and business, aviation headquarters and modern business headquarters, airport-oriented business service, high-end business realty, and e-business and outsourcing etc.
