Construction of a new 344-unit apartment complex has begun near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, according to local reports.

Located just south of the airport - in the CentrePort Business Park in east Fort Worth - the new community will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments along with a pool, a dog park, gazebos, a fitness centre and picnic areas among its amenities.

Phoenix-based Alliance Residential Co., one of the largest private apartment owners in the US, broke ground on the project last week.

The community has been called the Broadstone Centreport II and is a sister community to Broadstone Centreport ­- a 425-unit apartment community located nearby on Center Station Drive.

The apartment block should be completed by October 2012.
