Chopin Airport handled nearly 32,500 tonnes of cargo in the first three quarters of 2011, a 9.3% increase on the corresponding period last year.

Over the first nine months of 2011, Chopin Airport handled a total of 32,397 tonnes of cargo, including 31,838 tonnes on international routes and 558 tonnes domestically.
In September alone, the Polish gateway handled 3,700 tonnes, which was an increase of 4.8% on a year earlier.
Top destinations in terms of the volume of freight carried included Cologne, Leipzig, Chicago, New York and Shanghai.
Chopin Airport is the largest airport in Poland, and in 2010, the airport handled more than 8.7mppa and nearly 41,000 tonnes of cargo.
