Christchurch International Airport (CIAL) will complete the first facility at its new Dakota Park freight and logistics zone by October and has begun construction of a second 4,000sqm building for an undisclosed tenant.
Blair Forgie, general manager of property for CIAL told the New Zealand-based Stuff.co.nz website, construction on a 7,000sqm facility for IT and admin company Recall was well under way, with the airport now considering a phased expansion of the land released for commercial uses from 20 to 80 hectares.
CIAL has contracted Arrow International to construct a purpose-built information centre and office facility for Recall over the next year.
Recall is part of the Brambles group and has approximately 300 dedicated operation centres, spanning five continents, in more than 20 countries, servicing nearly 80,000 customers worldwide. Locally, it manages information for many of the region's largest public and private organisations.
