The Taiwanese cabinet has approved plans to establish a health centre at the Taoyuan International Airport as part of its aerotropolis plans.
The centre is intended to boost medical tourism to the island and develop the biotechnology sector at the airport, where the government is pumping an estimated US$127.6 million of funds to turn it into an airport city by 2020.
Other developments include the expansion of the airport's three terminals, the establishment of an industrial park and zoning for cargo, passengers and legislative services.
