Christchurch International Airport (CIAL) has secured Hewlett Packard and Landpower as new tenants at its 80-hectare warehouse and logistics Dakota Park development.
"We're delighted to announce that construction of commercial facilities for both Hewlett Packard and Landpower will begin in Dakota Park," said Blair Forgie CIAL's general manager property and commercial.
"CIAL is focused on building business and tourism for Christchurch, and the addition of these two companies in our logistics and distribution precinct is great news for the city," said Forgie. "Our vision is to attract more businesses to the area in order to diversify the airport's portfolio and strengthen the regional economy. At Dakota Park they have the ability to custom-build facilities that suit their businesses perfectly. They also have the advantages of being close to the airport, next to State Highway 1, and only 20 minutes from the port of Lyttelton."
The airport company has been developing the site infrastructure over the last year, with wide roading networks designed for large-scale truck movements, state-of-the-art telecommunications fibre distribution technology and independent water and sewer works.

"This is an exciting development and a notable step in the economic regeneration of the city," explained Blair Forgie.
There are still many sites available in Dakota Park, and the CIAL property team is in negotiations with other companies to build in this area.
