The construction of a $374 million rail link between Boryspil International Airport and Kiev city is expected to begin next month.

The State Agency of Ukraine for Investments and National Projects said work will begin on the rail link in May and trains between the airport and Kiev would start operating by the end of 2012.
The length of the route will be 37.4 kilometres in total with two stops, and a single trip will take 41 minutes.
According to the agency, the construction of 16km of railway will cost $66.82 million, and the 3.5km flyover will cost a further $198.59 million to erect.
Meanwhile, the 10,600sqm terminal at the Kyiv-Passenger station is expected to cost $24.16 million and the acquisition of four electric trains, each with five cars, will cost another $28.77 million.
In total it is estimated that the total cost of the construction will come to $373.99 million.
According to reports, in March the Cabinet of Ministers in the Ukraine provided Boryspil International Airport with state funds of $372.314 million to implement the project.
