Schiphol Real Estate, the property arm of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, has won an award for its innovative Avioport Logistics Park real estate park at Milan's Malpensa International Airport.
The annual award, presented by Assologistica Italia, recognised the high quality real estate offering at the Avioport Logistics Parkm which covers an area of 10 hectares with four industrial buildings covering 52,000sqm of four industrial buildings and three office buildings of approximately 15,000sqm.
'We are very happy with this award for the business park,' says Andrè van den Berg, director of Schiphol Real Estate. 'Avioport Logistics Park is a facility modelled and developed in accordance with Schiphol Group's AirportCity formula. It comprises a high-quality business estate with industrial and office buildings aimed at aviation-related companies in the logistics and distribution sector. This is the first business estate for logistics services in the Malpensa area.'
Schiphol Real Estate said it owed the award to its integrated area development approach for Avioport and its clear focus on real estate, facilities and services. The business park is characterised by a spacious design with lots of green public spaces. It boasts a variety of amenities and services including a bar, a restaurant, conference rooms, park management, security, customs facilities and a shuttle service to and from the airport. Companies with offices at Avioport include Fedex, DHL, Agusta Westland, CargoItalia, SASCO and a range of other air cargo-related businesses.
Avioport Logistics Park
Schiphol Real Estate and a local Italian partner (Finair) launched the development of Avioport Logistics Park near Milan Malpensa Airport in 2003. In mid-2010 construction work began for the fourth (and last) industrial building, which will have a floor area of nearly 13,000sqm and feature an underground car park with 200 parking spaces. Both the building and the car park are scheduled for completion in late 2011. This will also mark the completion of the area development project at Avioport Logistics Park.
