Warsaw Chopin Airport has confirmed that it will open a five-star Marriott Renaissance hotel in 2013.
Located on top of the existing multi-storey car park in front of Terminal A, the hotel will be financed and built by Polish Airports State Enterprise (PPL) and operated by subsidiary Port Hotel Ltd as a Marriott franchise.
Chopin's second airport hotel will occupy a 16,500sqm area and boast 220 rooms spread across eight floors. Three underground floors will contain parking for 100 vehicles.
Michał Marzec, PPL's general director, claims that the JEMS Architekci designed hotel will make an impressive new addition to the Warsaw Chopin's skyline.
"The elegant, concise and consistent architectural form of the hotel deserves particular distinction," notes Marzec.
Construction work will commence in Spring 2011 in readiness for the hotel to be commissioned in the first half of 2013.
