A new 540-room luxury hotel is to be built at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport to attract local and international tourists, it has been announced.
The Alliance Global Group said the Hamilton Hotel will be built in the neighbouring Newport City district and will front the airport's terminal 3, opening its doors in 2012.
The group is already operating two hotels at Newport, the Marriot and Maxims and the budget Remington Hotel is also under construction and is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2011.
Two other hotels are to be built over the next five years and once completed will give the 25-hectare home, entertainment and shopping complex the highest concentration of hotel rooms in the country.
"It is the fourth hotel to rise in Newport City, and it clearly demonstrates both our strong commitment to and our confidence in the potential of the tourism industry in the Philippines," said Alliance Global Group's president Kingson Sian.
