Quad-City International Airport is to build an office complex on 35.6 hectares of vacant farmland over the next 10 years it has been announced.
A joint venture between Illinois' third-busiest commercial airport, locally based developer Raufeisen Development and Moline City officials, the new office complex will include a corporate office space, a tech village, warehouses and commercial/retail tenants.
"The city is definitely excited about the opportunity because we don't have any industrial land that is available. There is a huge opportunity here," Ray Forsythe, the city of Moline's economic development director told the Quad City Times newspaper.
The development will now go before Moline City councillors for final approval in order to annex the required state land.
