Passenger traffic rose 16.2% at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to 25 million, while cargo leapt 30% to 1.77 million tonnes in 2010.
"Both growth rates were the highest among the 15 biggest airports in the world," Taiwanese Minister of Transportation and Communications Mao Chih-Kuo told The China Post.
Mao Chih-Kuo put the increase down to growing cross-strait traffic between Taiwan and Mainland China.
