Superior Logistics is set to lease 20,000sqft of office and warehouse space at the cargo-dedicated Rickenbacker International Airport, as part of its expansion in the US.

The third-party logistics provider will lease the space from the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, which operates the gateway and develops its surrounding property.
Superior Logistics said it would bring all its international airfreight operations to Rickenbacker Airport, including import deconsolidation - the process of breaking down bulk international shipments into multiple outbound shipments for final inland delivery.
The company's subsidiary Ablaze Transportation will then serve the landside operation of freight transfer, including pickup and delivery through their road feeder network.
Jeff Bruner, vice president of sales and marketing at Superior Logistics, said: "Finding a good fit - a location where we can meet the market demands of our clients - was a crucial component of our decision to establish roots at Rickenbacker.
"We enjoy the access the area offers and we have expectations of growth in the future."
FedEx, UPS, Evergreen, Kalitta and Southern Air all currently serve Rickenbacker International Airport.
The gateway is also a key component of Rickenbacker Inland Port, a multi-modal logistics hub known internationally for its network of cargo airlines, freight forwarders and trucking companies.
Additional components of the inland port include the Norfolk Southern Rickenbacker Intermodal Terminal, expansive industrial development and a US Foreign-Trade Zone.
Opportunities for airside development at the cargo-dedicated airport are available, including an existing 48,000sqft airside facility and a 30,000sqft hangar.
David Whitaker, vice president of business development for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, added: "We welcome Superior Logistics and the valuable services they bring to Rickenbacker International Airport.
"Their presence strengthens the airport's and region's logistics assets."
